Jay Leno and the cars from Fast Five - Click above to watch the video after the jump

Fast Five is the latest in the reinvigorated Fast and Furious franchise, and while the latest film adds Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson (along with Paul Walker and Vin Diesel), the real co-stars are, as always, the cars. A whole new batch of wheels debuts in Fast Five, and Jay Leno took a firsthand look at some of them.

Movie car builder Dennis McCarthy brought a C2 Corvette Grand Sport replica, which features a 1980s Corvette suspension and a custom body by Mongoose. While many movie cars feature "fake" power, the Vette still packs 500 horses. And since this Vette was made for movie production, there are another nine copies, two of which sit on Volkswagen platforms to better handle some off-road stunts.

Beyond the Corvetteette, McCarthy brought a 1960s Dodge Charger with a gutted blower and a small-block Chevy underhood. Hit the jump to watch the 10-minute video, which features a few clips from the movie and some behind-the-scenes footage as well. At one point, Jay leaves his garage and heads over to McCarthy's home turf, which shows more metal from Fast Five.

Movie was good, not a street racing movie and no riced out junk anymore..but a great action flick with a car themed backdrop and recognizable characters. It also has another guy from the 1st movie, the guy that got caught up on the transport truck at the end.

Hah, I love how all the LED's in the 2011 Chargers tail lights were not working.... AND THEY LEFT IT IN THE MOVIE.

this movie gave me faith again in good movies again. For starters they didnt shake the damn camera violently throughout the action like every action flick does nowadays. they didnt have any long drawn love story with love scenes throughout the movies either. it was like Italian job on steroids. im glad i stay after the credits though that sneak peek into the next one was stupid but still a lil exciting to see. im only disappointed that it isnt about the cars anymore. not being a super classic car fan i really wasnt impressed with the selection. i mean 69 charger is cool but how many times have we seen it before. as were all the dodges they used. at least have some nicely custom body work done on them. like the white challenger convertible wouldve been nice.

The movie was good fun, and has continued to move further and further away from rice territory... Which is both a good and bad thing. :P

I might sit through that whole movie just to hear more of that 'Corvette's' amazing growl - that thing sounds nasty!!!
