Concept Le Mans Camaros rendered by Vizualtech -- Click above for image gallery

Ah, it's the Swedes again. Never content to sit around when there's a perfectly good car you could mod, a gent named Bo Zolland at Viztech has rendered what he thinks a Le Mans or ALMS Camaro could look like, and there are a couple of no-good drifters in there as well. Of course this doesn't mean that there will be a Camaro in either series, but it's fun to play, no? However, if any of these cars did come to life, we'd take the red SS with the white stripes and front-side-exit exhaust. Sideways. Have a look at Zolland's work in the gallery of photos below.

they should make a body kit like this - so people can make wide body street cars

Cool rendering, but I don't this car will ever see the light of day. They may put a version in GT3/4, but it will always stay a step below the Corvette.

And in other news, GT5 for the PS3 is delayed for an additional 3 months to include this car in the lineup...

Repeat after me: A drawing of a car, not matter how cool or well done, is not a car.

        no one said it was.

Looks more like a SuperGT car. This thing would never fly at Le Mans.

And what is the point of putting the Camaro in LeMans? it would be competing against the vette and that won’t go over well.
Keep the vette in LeMans and keep the Camaro in Grand-Am
        Done.

This is an impossible rendering. The tires are WAY too big. The fact is the current camaro is a huge car and relies on over sized tires in it's stock configuration to look like it's proportions are correct for a road car. The tires shown here are MUCH larger than even stock camaro tires. I'm pretty sure if you put a full size print of this rendering besides any current ALMS car the camaro would look like a monster truck. The only way this could work would be if they shrunk down all the components; windshield, sideglass, headlights, etc... But I don't believe that's possible in the ALMS classes.

This design is a joke. It wouldnt meet any ALMS, LMS and Le Mans regs in so many areas. Fenders, splitter, side sills, rear spoiler etc

      total pie in the sky

Am I going crazy, or is the black car marked "Sideways" not a Camaro but a Dodge Challenger? Notice the thicker C pillar and differing character lines...

I can't help but pick up the "Xanavi" fire extinguisher, the NISMO wall in the garage.

This must be the Camaro GT-R!

GM has already homologated the Camaro for FIA GT3 and GT4. You will see some in Europe next year. I doubt if the would do it for GT1 or GT2, because they already have the best car available. However, it could easily be done. The car does meet all standards, but does not have the intense development behind it as the Corvette already does. Probably not a cost effective or image related move for this economic climate.

        I thought GT3 and GT4 was the Z06.R and C6 GT4.
