We Are All Bumblebee: Beijing Transformers fans gather to celebrate Revenge of the Fallen

Less than one week before Transformers 2: Rise of the Fallen goes into wide release in China, fans of the morphing vehicle-turned-robot movie franchise took to the streets of Beijing in full Bumblebee regalia.
What looks to be a well-organized event was put on by website Autohome.com.cn, and it appears that they even managed to get General Motors' Chevrolet division in on the act, with a new Bumblebee-spec Camaro to lead the procession of like-painted fan cars.
We're not sure we'd go with the yellow-and-black stripes treatment on our own rides, but we remain impressed with both the dedication and the sheer variety of cars that have been given the 'Full Bumblebee,' including a couple of new Cruze sedans and a passel of Aveos, a Ford Focus, a Suzuki Swift and an SX4, a Citroen C4 – even a Mark II Volkswagen Golf. Check out the high-res photo gallery after the jump, and be sure to click on the link below for even more shots of the event. Thanks for the tip, Joe!

why not the LS2LS7? 12:41PM (6/22/2009)
That's a pretty appealing paint job, on at least the first 3 cars. The Focus looks pretty good too. The Aveo's have too short a hood to look good with this paint job. And the Toyota guy failed to compensate for the curve of his hood so the stripes end funny.

Camaro is gorgeous with this paint-job.
Rest of them look like taxicabs. Funny stripes on the Toyota fit nicely the funny headlights. :)

I agree. At first, I thought it was a photo of Manhattan with a sea of taxicabs floating by. :)

Yeah, in other countries taxis aren't yellow, so people more likely to try on these special yellow paint jobs.

in our country they are yellow too, so I couldn't help it :)

I *love* transformers... the original cartoon series, this stuff that Miachel Bay has done, is pretty much a rape of the whole Transformers world.
Go lookup on google images what the original bumblebee looked like -- looks NOTHING like the one in the movie, doesnt help the fact that the original was akin to a VW beetle.
Things could have been a lot better if the movie wasnt one huge commercial for GM too.

agreed. besides the nutty kinda of puppy love comedy which can be dismissed cuz it is a family movie for the most part...but yea it definately was a GM fest and looking back now that GM is in its situation now...it probably wasn't the greatest idea.
but of course movies like F&F 2 were only sponsored by certain cars manufacturers as well, but transformers is/was overkill. I want to see the movie, but another thing I want to be able to seeing the battle scenes and not be subjected to a subliminal blur of action.
