A Car magazine reader has photographed the Aston Martin Rapide looking like it could have come off a dealer lot. The snapper also peeped the inside, which he said has a full-length console a la the Mercedes CLS to create four distinct seating positions. Aston has, however, said that those rear seats are for "children or two adults on shorter journeys." The slinky black number also sports a serious set of pipes out back that we expect to put out a beautiful soundtrack. And thank goodness the car has a hatch like the Vantage, which means -- in a first for current Aston Martins -- it could have a proper trunk. Like the kind you can actually put things in.

      bitter, party of one.

not a fan actually... never thought i'd say that about an aston but it just looks disproportionate to what i hoped it'd be.

      whats with the giant headlights?
Those are obviously plastic overlays on top of the actual headlights.

What, you thought they'd reveal the WHOLE thing before its debut?

Now, when will someone build a sleek 5-door at an attainable price point.

The design obviously is sexy. The money is in the details and the materials, and their construction.

A 30K car can look 90% this sexy... if a company decided to actually build something interesting. Sleek, simple, and correct proportion.

BTW, the headlights are plastic over-lay covers, on top of DB9 headlights. The side mirrors are on diagonal mounts into the door skins, rather than horizontal mounts into the corner of the side windows, like other Astons. A bit odd, but I can definitely forgive it.

        VW Passat CC
I agree that the CC looks doesn't compare with the rapid. And yeah maybe it isn't 5 door but it is the only 4 door coupe on the market that it's in $30k area.
First off, the CC doesn't look that good, it merely has a low-ish roofline. (but still a thick roofline) It isn't a 5-door.

Secondly, how would building an attractive product actually do harm to the company making said product?

Just proving that they have been lax up until that point, and not building to their potential so far?

Superior product should be the goal. If that is a threat to a mediocre status quo, then maybe that is exactly what they need.

      the side-mirror looks weird
i always liked the rapide project, but now, when i see the final product, i have to say that i'm a bit dissapointed by its looks.
the rear is ok, but the headlights are too large, and those side rear-mirrors are kind of displaced/ugly/mounted weird...... not comparable to db9/s/vantage

      I'm not sure what's funnier:

The fact people sincerely believe that the elitists/globalists are hand in hand with whoever the president is...

Or the people who've got less faith in America than those people rioting right now in Iran.

Obama is gonna come take your guns and bibles because you cling to them sucka !

Go hide in your cave and come back once you finish reading at least one book about politics. Cars and politics don't get along, since we all love cars and think different about politics keep your comments relavant to cars, otherwise you are not welcome here. So yeah your comment is pretty irrelevant and stupid.

I think the glass over the headlights didn't need to be so long. It makes an uncomfortable resemblance to a Peugeot. Otherwise, this is the best looking car I've ever seen.
