For Sale: Bugatti Veyron 16.4 production #001
Yesterday we happened to be in Beverly Hills and came across a dealership that had not one, but two Bugatti Veyrons for sale. Of course, we had to stop in to check the cars out, and found that one was actually production #001. According to the dealer, O'Gara Coach, the car only has 400 miles on the odometer. The price tag? As the saying goes, if you have to ask then you can't afford. We'll tell you anyway. O'Gara Coach has the price tag listed at just under $2.4 million. While having #001 would be pretty cool, we'd actually opt for the black-on-black model that was also in the showroom. Not that we will ever come close to being able to afford either, but we can always dream. We've uploaded a high-res gallery of both Bugattis that can be browsed below.

The local dealer here in London has one of the Centennaire Villa d'Este models for sale right now at a cool €1.4m (yep, euros, even though it's for sale in the UK)

I'm impressed how common the veryons are really, there's always a handful on sale in LA, London, hell even San Diego typically has 2 or 3 in just one exotic dealership. Makes you wonder.

The most impressive sighting in London was one parked outside the German embassy a full 2 years before it was available for sale.

quite the bargain in rediculous collector terms... this car will be worth muuuch more in years to come, being that its number 1. if you're a billionaire, you may as well just buy this for the sake of investment

I thought number ones were always kept internally. Is this a sign that Bugatti is hurting?

nope. the trend for the last decade or so has been to sell the first production unit at charity events.

I actually wouldn't doubt that this is the second car out of the factory, but is labeled as the #1 production car. When I was at the factory for a test drive last month I'm pretty sure the guide said that the owner of Bugatti has the first Veyron and Veyron Grand sport production cars. I could be wrong on that, but clearly they have a few cars that are at least almost production cars that are made before the final versions. Hell, they were working on the very first customer Grand sport when we were there, and they had one to show off for the auction of the car held last year.

The dealership brought this one out to the Concours d'Elegance in Beverly Hills last year as well... they've clearly had it sitting there for over a year... must be even the filthy rich in the area can't afford it either.

Rare enough car to begin with, the number has no meaning or value, at least IMHO. 2.4? lol.

If I were to pay 2.4 mil for a car I would probably not put more than 400 miles on it either. Keep it locked up for in case a pigeon craps on it or something.

In a world where so many don't even have enough to eat, nor a safe place to sleep, it is immoral that anyone would buy a car like this, no matter how much he or she give to charity.

What's the cord running from the back of the all black one in picture #11 for?

Battery tender. Keeps the battery from dying while the car is sitting for a while.

2.4 million for one of the most powerful production cars in the world, and yet you'd be a fool to drive it. Seems like a bit of a waste to me. Beautiful car though.

I'd rather buy the McLaren F1 that caught on fire and rebuild it for an extra $1million over any Veyron - 1st edition, carbon fibre edition, gold plated edition, or any other nouveau-riche edition - any day
