Click above for high-res gallery of 2010 Ford Mustang teaser shots

Ford has zoomed its camera lens out a bit to finally show us a view of the 2010 Mustang's entire interior. The Dearborn-based automaker appears to be modernizing its retro duds with the latest edition. There's plenty of genuine aluminum on the dash and black leather giving everything a suitably sporty appearance, though we'll withhold judgment until we actually feel the material quality with our own hands. The center stack looks to have some sort of LCD panel at the top with its controls grouped in a nice tight pattern below. We dig the pleated seats and triangular inner door panels along with the contrasting white stitching, as well. After this latest shot, we'd guess that the Blue Oval team will switch back to the exterior now that there isn't much left to see on the inside. There's just two more agonizing teaser shots left before the 2010 'Stang's official unveiling at the LA Auto Show in a little over 13 days, and we're looking forward to seeing it all in person and up close.

Is it just me or is the speedo bezel larger in diameter than the tach bezel? Why?!?
Looks the same size to me.

This interior Owns on the other two Pony cars. That is beautiful and clean.

but no nav screen? i was kinda hoping to have that option when i buy mine come next fall...
        tj,
There will be a nav screen option. Just not shown in this picture ;)

I myself own a 67 and a 98 Mustang and I much prefer the older dashs. Guess that's why I won't be buying a new one anytime soon.

The way the buttons are placed (the 4 big ones and the small screen on the top) remind me the Volvo interiors.

      But it looks good !
      I like it

      It's a vision of loveliness. :)

Boring and the center stack looks like it could belong in any other new Ford vehicle... mostly because it contains all of the same Radio/HVAC controls from every other new Ford vehicle.
The Camaro has an interior that doesn't look like any other GM product out there and shares very few visible interior parts from the GM parts bin. It's truly unique and from seeing GM's recent production vehicles, the materials and fit/finish will be top notch.

I think Ford needs to rush the next gen Mustang along. This won't be enough to keep muscle car enthusiasts from buying the new and more advanced Camaro.

The beauty of it all is GM won't have the money to redo the upcomming Camaro once it arrives. GM just put a freeze on ALL new car devolopment except for the Volt. That means a Camaro redo is pushed way back, behind the Malibu, behind the Traverse, behind the DTS/STS replacement and anything else scheduled to come out in the next 5 years.

Besides, the Corvette is nothing special (and wouldn't look out of place in a Cobalt) shares interior parts with Silverados and other GM cars. Also, the previous Camaro was more advanced and the Mustang outsold it, badly. That is what really matters in the end.

The centerstack is similar to other Fords because it has the new Sync system, which GM does not. Makes GMs OnStar look like an Atari compared to a X Box.

Speaking of which, the Camaro is all cheap hard plastic, the Mustang is soft padded w/ REAL metal accents, not silver spraypainted plastic pieces. This Mustang interior is cool like a Harley- honest and real. It may get outrun by a crotch rocket, but then you're missing the point.

I agree. But i also agree that this is one of the best mustangs in quality that i have seen. So it is going to be back to the camaro vs mustang race of old. There is a passion for each one of these automobiles and they will go head to head.

As for the camaro interior being cheap plastic. I don't know where that is coming from. Been to the plant that designs them and plastic really is starting to become a hated word (which is good). Expect to see Malibu and CTS quality

The speedo is indeed bigger than the tach. You can see it better at pic number 7.

happy penguin, thx for clearing "the thing at the bottom right" up
        • 6 Years Ago
Actually, the perspective distortion from using a wide-angle lens makes the speedo appear bigger in the picture.
Dude, you see that's what I thought too but after it was pointed out to me I looked again and you can see the radius of the speedo extending beyond that horizontal line from the piece of the instrument cluster while the radius of the tachometer only comes up to the horizontal line.
        happy penguin,
I don't think the line you're talking about is horizontal.

Look at picture 10 again. The air vents in the middle are horizontal, but the top of the dash above the gauges is not- it angles down. The dark line between the gauges also angles down. So that's why it hits the circles in different spots.

If you visually extend the horizontal top edge of the middle air vents out toward to driver, it hits the top of both circles.

Its the perspective the of picture. The right one ( tach ) looks bigger in today's pic, but the speedo looks bigger in pix 7 and 10. Its perspective.

I think they're probably the same size and horizontally level with the steering wheel, but its the angle of the dash above them that's creating this visual illusion.

Much improved appearance-wise. Hopefully materials are better as well.
      Agonizing, indeed.
Wow why are they still doing this lol, its just a Mustang, it's not special anymore lol
        • 6 Years Ago
A car that's sold over 9 Million uninterrupted for 45 years is not "just a Mustang"

It may not be your cup of tea, but it's definitely something special. Perhaps you like "just another Porsche 911."
I'm just not understanding all the teaser footage, just show the car already, this is more stupid then that Citroen GT, just show the car.
      Great...better looking Plastic.
Is that some exposed wiring I see in the bottom left?
At the bottom right that's the glove box knob.
Oops, yeah I mean bottom right.
