VIDEO: Hamann-tuned McLaren SLR Volcano coming soon

Hamann is continuing to expand its lineup to include the top tier of luxurious performance, and it looks like the tuner has finally turned its attention to the Mercedes SLR McLaren.
A teaser video has been released, showing the conservatively named "Volcano" SLR sporting three-piece deep-dish wheels, two-tone paint, massive rear wheel arches, roof scoop, rear diffuser and wing. Details are limited right now, but we suspect more information will leak its way out before the SEMA show next month. In the meantime, hit the jump to view the video. Hat tip to strekov.

Funny, in the dialect of grand mother, "haman" is a bad behaving boy....
BTW, metric or imperial ton? It can be crucial...

Why??? The car is worthless to begin with.

You are kidding, right? The SLR is heavy, but its still a supercar. I certainly would not kick one out of my garage.
Wheatstraw 11:01AM (10/21/2008)
No, I'm not kidding, the car is a disgrace. Mercedes had an opportunity to build something great with Mclaren. Mclaren knows a bit more about super cars than Mercedes but somehow, they ended up cutting the front off an SLR and sticking a locomotive engine in it and left it at that. There is no finesse, it looks like one of the Gotti kids designed it.
I expected so much more when one of the companies involved developed the F1....
Wheatstraw 11:02AM (10/21/2008)
And WHY is the engine in the front???????
TJ 12:07PM (10/21/2008)
I agree with you about the F1, it is my favorite vehicle of all time; however, the goal of this car was not to be the F1.
Wheatstraw 12:46PM (10/21/2008)
Understood...I just expected much more of a complete package.

seems like the car shown in the video wasn't finished yet..
it still had the mercedes star logo, those three round black spots on the bumper, as well as darkened headlights...
Patrick 11:02AM (10/21/2008)
Well, the video was cool at least. I just can't take that car seriously with the CF plastered all over it. Especially the side...flares/paneling?

Roof scoop for a front/mid mounted engine? Hamann must have consulted some kids from the local grade school to help design that kit.

I know that if i got this car i would certainly not get rid of it. it doesn't look amazing but noone can say if they won it that they would give it away or demo it.

Your right, in the likely scenario that I "won" this car I would not give it away. I would instead sell it and laugh the whole way to the bank.
