In the Autoblog Garage: 2008 Mustang Bullitt - Video edition
Autoblog drives the 2008 Bullitt Mustang
The Ford Mustang has been the lone-surviving pony car since the last Camaro hit the chopping block back in 2002. Even though the Blue Oval no longer had any competition in the rear-wheel-drive muscle car market, the Mustang was given a major overhaul for the 2005 model year, and to keep the RWD coupe fresh, limited edition variants have been popping up with regularity. One of our favorites is the understated Bullitt Mustang, which we reviewed earlier this month. We had so much fun with the 315-hp retro coupe that we put it back on the street for some video love. Hit play on the video above for just over three minutes of a beautiful green Bullitt in glorious motion. It'll be worth your time. High resolution photos from our earlier review are available below, as well.

Love the site. Just wish the internet as a whole wasn't relying so much on video these days.

I guess I am in the minority. I thought the Mustang was really awesome when it first came out (and really it is still awesome). But I really can't get excited about every new model of mustang that comes out. There has to be well over 25 now. zzzzzz

If the car had IRS, and came with the glass roof option, and were a midnight blue version (they still do blue and black, as well as green, right?)
put some gunmetal FR500 staggered fitment rims... a pedestal spoiler, Saleen Parnelli Jones-style hybrid GT/GT500 front bumper cover, and saleen's rear treatment that moves the license plate up to the trunk lid, and diffuser rear bumper cover...
5.0 Cammer motor and 6-speed, with a rear LSD...
starting to look pretty good. Probably not a bullitt, though.
I do like the monochrome look, and lack of flash. I'd still rather make it MY car, rather than Frank Bullitt's car, though. :D

As much as I love the Stang I remain disappointed at the live axle. It feels fine stock but once you put stiffer springs and serious wide, sticky low pros on you instantly become well aware whats under the rear end. I mean the 235/55 setup is there just to cover up whats going on under the rear and tires like that have no place on a performance car.
