Even though we just turned over our Jessica Alba calendar to October, Lexus is proclaiming that the holiday season is right around the bend. In keeping with tradition, the L-finesse'd automaker is teaming up with Neiman Marcus to offer its own special holiday edition ride to trust fund kids and recent divorcees in the form of the Lexus IS-F "Special Build."

For those of you in a higher tax bracket and smitten with the new 400 HP sedan, the duo is offering a limited run of 50 IS-F "Special Builds" that come swathed in an Obsidian black paint job, perforated leather seats with white stitching and an "F" logo embossed into the headrests. The steering wheel gets white leather accents and when you're not up to enjoying the burble from the 5.0-liter V8, you can bask in your favorite Barry Manilow hit album through a Mark Levinson premium surround system with nav and Bluetooth connectivity.

Lexus and Neiman Marcus realizes that deep pockets and driving talent have a tendency to be mutually exclusive, so included for your $68,000 is travel and lodging for buyers to attend a complimentary course from Skip Barber. They're taking orders beginning at noon on Thursday, October 18th, so get your platinum card ready and kick off the holiday season right.

Top tip Tony!

Lexus creates the Neiman Marcus IS F Special Build Sedan for Neiman Marcus' 2007 Christmas Book

TORRANCE, Calif. (Oct. 2, 2007) - The holidays are right around the corner and what better way to ring them in than with the ultimate holiday gift? The Neiman Marcus 2008 Lexus IS F Special Build Sedan debuts as this year's fantasy car in the renowned Neiman Marcus Christmas Book, the upscale retailer's wish book featuring the most luxurious gifts for the holidays.

The IS F is the fastest production car Lexus has ever built...so fast that the Neiman Marcus Special Build Sedan includes a personalized half-day of pro-driver training compliments of the Skip Barber Racing School. Owners will have the chance to take the high-performance vehicle to the limit - learning real racing skills and experiencing what the IS F can do on and off the road.

Delivering more than 400 horsepower from its 5.0-liter V8, the IS F can go from 0 to 60 in under 4.9 seconds. It has the world's first eight-speed Sport Direct Shift gearbox and a specially engineered Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management (VDIM) system featuring a high-performance sport mode. If the heart-pounding power and speed aren't enough, the Mark Levinson® state-of-the-art CD/DVD Premium Surround Sound Audio System with navigation and Bluetooth® technology will surely get the blood pumping.

Only 50 Neiman Marcus IS F special build sedans will be made. These limited edition vehicles will be among the very first IS Fs off the line and have an exclusive interior design of high-style black with white accent stitching. Each will feature a unique steering wheel with white leather accents, front headrests embossed with an F logo, hand-polished finish on the wheels and a sequentially numbered Special Build badge.

To place orders, customers may call toll free 1.888.747.4504, beginning at noon EDT on Oct. 18, 2007. This Neiman Marcus edition is offered exclusively in the Christmas Book.

I know that the Neiman Marcus edition is always marked up. However, I still think this car will be horribly overpriced when it is released to the public. I drove the IS350 last year and it was incredibly bland with little to hint at actual speed. Yeah, that seems to be Lexus: Overpriced and underwhelming.

They did this last year with a special edtion m6, charged 30k over sticker, and they sold out in less than 15 minutes.

"...that deep pockets and driving talent have a tendency to be mutually exclusive, so included for your $68,000 is travel and lodging for buyers to attend a complimentary course from Skip Barber."

Can we get the same package for Ferrari, Audi R8 and Lambo owners as well? Hell, how about for the Nick Hogans of the world also...

When the newest Thunderbird came out they were available first through Niman Marcus with black paint and silver removable hard tops.

Remember that? I've yet to see one on Ebay yet.

By far Lexus has the best stock stereo system. My dad has a RX400h with the premium sound and it beats out my old accords aftermarket sound system that i invested so heavily in. Mark Levinson is also way more high end than the POS harmon kardon I have and the Bose in benzes.
Yeah, the Harmon-Kardon systems in BMWs are certainly nothing worth paying extra for - one of my BMWs has it, one doesn't, and the sound quality out of both is average at best.

And Bose, well, I've yet to hear _any_ Bose system anywhere that sounds decent.

Something about this car looks really ghetto. Sorta like some wannabe gangsta slammed it with a cheap pair of aftermarket springs and bolted on some tupperware body "enhancements".

Not sure why. Maybe it'll look better in person.

That aside, it still needs a manual transmission option to be credible.

Lexus still hasn't released pricing on the IS-F. That info should probably coincide with the Tokyo Auto Show press conferences on Wednesday 24 & Thursday 25 October.

They had a blue lexus IS-F on display at this year's US OPEN. The car looks worse in real. It looks like a cheap aftermarket body panel job. Plain awful
      • 8 Years Ago
How much is the regular non-special IS-F? I had not seen MSRP posted yet.

Every time I see a Lexus it makes me want to gag.

Everytime I see the Golden Girls I want to gag.

Mmm, an overpriced special edition of a car that WILL be overpriced when it goes on sale to the public. Yeah, that's Lexus for you: Overpriced and very underwhelming.

Forget the car, tell me where you scored the Jessica Abla calendar!!
