There's really nothing else to say here, except that the apparent supremacy of the Suzuki Hayabusa is pretty much cemented in our minds forever after watching the video after the jump. This particular bike's turbocharged, and yes, the numbers on the speedo represent miles per hour. Note the speed at which the front wheel finally comes down. Ridiculous.

Look a little closer at the speedo, it is easiest to see at the 130 mark. The big number on the outside is 130 and the little number inside is 200, thanks to "onlineconversion" 130 is about 209 so that is pretty much right on. Sorry if i sounded like an @$$.

Yeah, at 200 mph the cars doing 65 going the other way would be a blur. The guage cluster was probably filmed while the bike was on a dyno- weak

I agree the background looks much slower than one would think. But the RPMs seem to be reasonable for the speed (shifts into 6th around 200mph). The other thing that makes it seem a little more real is the riders reflection in the gauges.

Yeah, I saw this on some other website a while ago and I'm pretty sure it's fake...the speed doesn't match the scenery at all. However, you can see the biker's reflection on the gauges and it does reflect what's actually going on (you can see the horizon reflected as the front wheel is in the air?). Maybe the speedometer's been tampered with?

The video is real you can see glare at the beginning and at the end you can see the reflection of the rider standing up to slow down. The engine sounds turbocharged, which would make those speeds possible but the road does not look like its going by that fast so it could be in KPH.

Judging by the distance away the other road is the car going in the other direction wouldn't be a total blur because the there is a large distance between the two roads. Also check the riders reflection in the gauges. It would be easy to over lay the background but not the reflection on the gauge. I think this is the real deal.

if this was filmed in the US the way to figure it out would be to measure the time it takes the bike to travel past one lane stripe on the road. I am no engineer, so it is beyond me ... any takers with time ont heir hands?

the speed record for a TC hyabusa is somewhat north of 236 MPH at the ECT in north carolina

Why don't some of you guys believe it? I've watched numerous videos of various turbo busa's and this one is no different. There are a number of 500+whp Busa's rolling around. 500whp, 700lbs of bike + rider, you do the math.
I've seen turbo Busa's at the drag strip trapping in the 190 mph range, and I'd guess that they're only in the 300-400whp range. For reference, a modern day 600cc bike making 105-110whp, ~600lbs with rider traps ~130mph. Stock liter bikes making ~155-160whp trap ~155mp, ~600lbs also.

I think you guys are over estimating how fast 200+ mph should look. You can't base your judgment on the trees along the road because they are a pretty decent way away, especially from the perspective of a camera. Look at the line markings as the bike is accelerating and the color variations of the concrete (it makes it easier to see the concrete "moving" under the bike). The bike could easily be moving as fast as the speedometer says it is

I've seen this one many times. Probably real, yes. The speeds he reaches are not in the realm of "unobtainable" - just downright scary to think of. Turbo'd Busas are easily capable of 350-plus hp, and weigh very little. The power-to-weight ratio is unmatched by anything short of...I dunno, the Space Shuttle I suppose. Bone-stock Busas are capable of 190 mph, and that's with a "measly" 156 hp.
From the Wikipedia article:
"The motorcycle can be modified with turbochargers, and turbocharged Hayabusas hold many top speed and acceleration records, including the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme 1350 cc world record of 252.832 mph (406.894 km/h), the fastest American Motorcyclist Association US record for an open wheel bike.[7] During the record pass the onboard GPS recorded 261 mph (420 km/h) as a top measured speed."
The video above probably approaches 250 mph, so it's not unreasonable.
