MINI GP slower than an R/C car
Fifth Gear recently took advantage of having a MINI GP to run their own mini GP. That is a race between a MINI GP and the fastest tiny vehicle they could find that might be a real challenge to the MINI. After thinking through the list of would be competitors for this 218 hp, lightened and stiffened MINI, they landed on the perfect match; an R/C car. Seriously. They found Andy Moore who happens to be an R/C touring car champion. They pitted Vicki and him against each other on a full size track. You won't believe the outcome. What's even sadder than you guys in the US not having Top Gear or Fifth Gear, is that in the UK during the current season of Fifth Gear, they COMPLETELY ruined it !! They switched from the high-rating popular style they'd been doing - with intelligent presenters who can drive, to introducing a new style. They started filming scenes in a cafe with a new presenter who used every opportunity to express how he's never driven around a track, knows nothing about cars, and flirts with Vicky and giggles like a little girl. He's a complete *%(^&@$## and has ruined the show. I gave up after the second episode and look forward to Top Gear coming back soon.

R/C car smashing, a la Ocean's Eleven.... Here's the worst part about this hack of a show, Full race suit (like fire was a fear) but no helmet. Useless

This is stupid... of course the R/C car would win. Fun to watch though. Sad that she ran over hundreds of dollars worth of equipment.

Hmm... A full size car which experiences body roll and a lot of drag or an electric car with an extremely low center of gravity which accesses all of it's torgue throughout its power band.

I used to have a little Kyosho MP6 with an OS RG .21 motor the thing was fast. I took on a guy in a 2000 Camaro Z28 back when I was working at a Chevrolet dealer. I had him by about a car length or two. We could only race for maybe about a 16th of a mile though, just a parking lot anything after that the Camaro would have destroyed it. Those litte things move though!

A ruined show, which started to go downhill with the introduction of the 'girl' version of Viki. It was all fine until they started telling her to giggle and squeal more during her time on the show.

I have an idea.
Every time there's an episode of Fifth Gear or Top Gear, we cut out every segment and immediately make an Autoblog post of it..
That way, I don't have to see it again, months later, after that episode aired.

Are you serious? (Also--give some puctuation a try. Oh, now I get why you use all caps--you have no idea when to capitalize letters, like at the beginning of a sentence! I guess they haven't gotten to that in your third-grade curriculum, have they?)
And why do you want us to check out your myspace, you third-grader? Are you a knob-gobbler? Do you have some interesting video clips of you doing something to farm animals you'd like us to watch?

A Camaro? You're an idiot.
You've got a small track with a lot of turns. (Listen close--Vicki acutally alludes to the fact that the track's for karts.) The R/C car has a much lower center of gravity and much lower mass, which means it can turn faster and go into and out of corners hotter. I doubt that a full-size car could break 50 mph on a track like that. Even if the R/C car had a top end of 40 mph (doubtless--my 1987 Kyosho Optima Mid could hit 60 easy), it can by its very nature get to that top speed a lot faster, and can use up a lot more of the track space, meaning it has to slow down less. Simple physics, guys. Put the R/C car up against any full-size car on that track and it will win. Put the Mini up against any larger car and and the Mini will most likely win--if the other car's not a tarmac-prepped rally car. Put the R/C car up against a shifter kart--now, that's a race I'd like to see.
Take a high-school science class before you open your goofy cakehole.

No amount of camera work is going to hide the fact that she drove slow and she had the horrible tendency of coming to an almost complete stop coming out of a corner. It was painful to watch. I see why they threw the R/C Car in there, to divert the viewer's attention from her atrocious driving.
I wouldn't say it was because she was a woman driver. But she should be booted for reinforcing stereotypes.

As everyone said...it's a Kart track...that little RC Car easily tops out at 50-60MPH, but more important, gets up to speed in about 50 ft. That tire warmer makes those tires SUPER sticky and that brushless motor is going to run 70K RPM.
Plop the best driver in the world in that car...it's not going to matter...it's not a fair race.
Either way...entertaining.

I'd like to see what would happen between the RC car and a shifter kart on the same road course.
Go to Bob Bondurant's school website and see what happens between a shifter kart and a C5 Z06!!! Cool!
