Lancer in the Wild!

Many, many thanks to tipster "Rocket Punch" for sending in the photo above. Yes it's grainy and dark, but there's pretty much no mistaking it for what it is: the all-new Lancer that's not supposed to make its public debut until the Detroit auto show. The wing and sizeable alloys suggest a sports model like a Ralliart or perhaps even the Evo. (Dig the "Driven to Thrill!" license plate frame.)
Either way, we're liking what we can see here, and have our fingers crossed that the new Lancer will live up to the expectations set by the Concept X show car.

Nice. I wouldn't be surprised if this became a new favorite to the compact market, à-la-Mazda3. Stylists got this one right - hopefully for Mitsu, it'll deliver more than just a good-looking alternative, but a serious contender.

No rear diffusers=rallyart or other variation. Not an evo...

-Do ya really think this is the EVO? First off, I'm willing to be the EVO would have those ricey looking clear lights, which leads me to belive this is just a lancer

Looks great -- I cant wait to see how hot the Evo will be. Subaru is going to have to do some serious catch up to make the Impreza look this impressive.

That's definitely a RalliArt version, because of both the rims and the spoiler. If it was just an appearance package, like the OZ Rally version, it would have specific but smaller OZ rims that are 5 spoke, not the 8 spoke ones.
I'm REALLY digging it, especially if they go the WRX route with an AWD de-tuned turbo for the RalliArt version.

That was the rumor in Las Vegas. As well as a Sportback (not like the old one) version of both the Evo and the Lancer. So not only are they going after the WRX, but they're going after the Forrester as well. They actually showed the hatchback.

Whow!!! Some of you guys have great I sights, cause the picture kind of blurry for me to tell if I like it or not. I kind of looks like the rear of Russian Photo/chop pic.

Go-Go action Mitsu. Seriously, it looks like they were in a tight enough spot that they made a good looking lancer. Now lets hope the next eclipse doesnt look like a bloated suppository. Next up in the we are screwed auto game show? Ford.

Hmm...I find myself strangely indifferent to this one. Maybe it's just the uncertainty and graininess talking.

Who needs grainy pics? Inside Line has pretty pics up from a Russian website: http://blogs.edmunds.com/Straightline/1792

After the whole Buick thing, I wouldn't be surprised if this picture was taken by Mitsu themselves. It shows just enough of the car to get people talking, but really shows no exact detail.

Mitsubishi's are for trashy, no credit people, and everybody knows this..they mess up everything, look at the "new" galant, eclipse, endevour, outlander, lancer,,,need i say more...my lousy credit neighbor had a 2001 or 2001 galant, was worth -6,000 2 months after she bought it brand new...

Seriuosly, if mitsus are for "lousy credit people" then where does that leave Ford, DCX?....personally I had a 2004 Galant LS, which was an awesome car, that was severly totaled by a Safari minivan, and It did quite well..with side airbags..yes I do agree on resale, i had to tack the payoff amount onto a new loan, that sucked!!I think mitsus main problem is reputation and part design, but as you see by he upcoming uplander and Lancer, maybe mitsu can bring back some smartly styled vehicles, I've always appreciated Mitsus different quirks, starting with my mom's former Galant VR4, she didn't know what she had, but if I were driving back then!!!! Mitsu is doing better as of lately, and with fresh new products coming, especially in the maret that is selling i.e small cars..I think Mitsu has a suprise in the new Lancer..
