Shelby look for your new 'Stang

The only quibble I have with the new Mustang GT -- and it's a really small one -- is the set of oversized driving lights mounted in the grille. I tend to prefer the smaller, more retro-looking ones seen on the Pony Package-equipped V6 models. While perusing Planet Mustang, however, I saw something that changed my mind about the big lights. Street Scene Equipment is selling a replacement grille for 2005 and newer Mustangs that takes the GT-sized driving lights and centers them in the manner of some late-60s Shelby Mustangs.
Granted, installing the new grille will result in the loss of your stock pony badge, but that's easily rectified by installing an offset pony as seen above. The car depicted is actually a V6 owned by one Tom Rasada, who details the installation at 4.0 Collective.
V6, V8, whatever -- this grille is a nice customization that looks as if it came directly from the factory. Check out Planet Mustang for more specifics.

I thought that having the lights that close together was illegal?

I am sick of so many Mustangs. Thats all Ford cares about , 1 car in their whole company.
The Ford Ka should come here.
Check out these two european commercials for it:

1 is right... anyone who modifies a v6 mustang (or camaro or any other muscle car) is a loser - there's no getting around it. those people just suck.

I've driven the V8 Mustang and the V6. The V6 is a pussy cat and the V8 is a monster. Which would I take? The V8!!!

While I agree modding a v6 stang is dumb, to each their own. 5, you suck and youre a loser for caring what they do with their car. Are people that mod FWD cars losers and suck? Does modding a 4 cylinder car makes you a loser and suck? Can trucks be modded without becoming a loser? Can only a RWD coupe, with a v8 and a manual tranny be the only car worthy of modifying? SO now only mustang gt, corvette and getting axed gto are the only cars on the market today that can be modified? People with narrow minds are losers and suck. gkz sucks. gkz is a loser. gkz finds remodeled dodge caravans exciting. what a real car guy.

How can you dislike the inset headlights on the stock GT?
I think they're the only thing that makes the GT actually look manly. Put the base next to the GT, take a look at them from the front, and the base is undeniably wussy.

Just for clarity:
I have no problem with modding a V6 car, oran I4 or whatever else. For example, modding up your V6 Z-350, or
your 4-cyl WRX...good for you, no problem. But if you have an engine choice, and you mod up the base version, that's just...I can't think of a better word then "lame" to describe it.
You might be a super guy (or girl) otherwise, but I'm secretly giggling at your ride.

#3. Ford has nothing to do with this modification. What the Ka has to do with the Mustang???
Well, about the grille, its an option, you may want it or you may not, that´s why it´s called an option.
#5. If this is your opinion, well, i can accept that, but it doesn't means it´s true. Also, you may be a loser and you may suck as #8 said, it may not be true, but i think he´s right.

I have to agree i wouldn't do anything to a V-6, but who ever wantes to comment on fwd or awd saying there not worth modding there full of crap. There is plenty of fwd or awd cars that can blow right by your pretty little mustangs or camaroes. I Know people that have raced modded V-8. Now who ever losses to a modded 4cyl is a loser cause you know the V-8 are made to be big and bad. This is mad to rob.

What's wrong with altering the appearance of a V6 a bit? It's not like he's putting GT badges or a riced-up wing on it. A big part of the new Mustang's appeal is the retro styling.
V6 or V8, it's a fun car either way. Even a stock manual V6 can run a 15.0 second quarter mile stock, which is nothing to scoff at in its price range.

ROB - can you find any reference to I4's or FWD cars in my original post??? Didn't think so.
Since you're clearly too stupid to read, I'll explain in more simple terms. I can see no possible reason for someone to throw away money modifying a v6 muscle car rather than the V8. There is no rational reason for doing this.
So... now that I've cleared this up for you, you can't make any more wrong inferences about what i wrote. if you'd like to write some more about how i suck and am not really into cars - go ahead, it only shows that you have nothing substantial to say and have to fall back on elementary school insults. good luck to you.

In response to 14 ROB. The simplest of reason is this : 6 to 8K. This is the price difference between the mustang V6 and the GT. For less then that (if you are a bit a mechanics) yous can mod a V6 up to 325 rwhp. That's better than stock GT (270 rwhp). And the V6 il lighter and have better weight ratio then the GT.

Nuke1 -
I understand that; you could say the same thing for any v6 vs v8 comparison. I don't mean to imply that such modification isn't possible.
What I'm trying to say is that the only real reason to buy a mustang, or any of the new muscle cars coming out soon, is the engine (unless you're one of those stereotypical redneck musclecar people that give a bad name to real enthusiasts). otherwise, why wouldn't you get a sport sedan that handles better while still being more useful in just about any situation. So, if you're not going to get the V8 and modify that if you're into changing things, what possible reason is there for messing around with a v6?

The bulk of the sales of these cars are the V6 models. This has always been the case. And with the current gas prices it's unlikely to change.
"otherwise, why wouldn't you get a sport sedan that handles better while still being more useful in just about any situation."
As for the the sport sedan comparison, look at the cost. At the price range I got my 06 V6 Mustang the only other new cars I would have been able to get are econoboxes. And not the fast models, either. I doubt they would handle as well and they definitely wouldn't be anywhere near as fast in a straight line. The price of a sport sedan is more in line with the Mustang GT.
Comparing a V6 Stang to anything else in its price range is like comparing apples to oranges. It has its own niche.

I tend to prefer ones with no driving lights. The problem is that many drivers don't understand what they are for, and just use them as standard headlight in city driving. Thus in city traffic many on-coming cars have four headlights.
