VIDEO: Dodge Viper Diamondback caught hot weather testing
Snakes aren't the onliy diamondbacks in the desert these days. A few Dodge Viper Diamondbacks were caught hot weather testing down in the Southwestern United States, complete with a hood bulge likely hiding the 650-hp engine we got a sneak peek of during the 2006 North American International Auto Show in Detroit (concept pictured). The powerplant, which is a collaboration between McLaren and American Specialty Cars, pushes the Viper to 60 in less than 3.5 seconds. Check out the video link to catch the beast in action.

Geez, how embarassing is that? Here i thought i was going to see some high speed track work, not a bunch of guys pushing a viper in a parking lot. Looks like they got more work to do.

Pretty boring video, music didn't help. A couple pics would have sufficed.

(sounds weird coming from me, a huge ford fan...)

There would be no point in getting upset for being that close. They were in public and the only thing changed so far is the engine, and being under the hood makes it easy to hide. They won't get really upset until people start catching the car with it's new front end. Whenever that is...

2008, they're skipping the 07 Model year alltogether. It's expected to have 650+ horses.

And it's a powertrain test mule, it could have been a number of things that went wrong. But as it was shown the car was able to get up and running again and drive off. Embarassing would have been calling in a flat bed.
