Roush belts out Ford GT pulley kit
We at Autoblog hear the same lament all the time... "I love my Ford GT, but with just 550 horsepower, it's a shade on the pokey side." Well, LeMans-if-not-for-traffic pilots, the go-faster guys and gals at Roush feel your pain.
To that end, they've just introduced a GT replacement pulley kit reportedly good for 25 horsepower and 25 lb.-ft. of torque. The kit comes with a new pulley (natch), a replacement belt, a couple of quarts of supercharger gear case oil and sealant.
The best part? The MSRP is a shade over $300... which isn't bad for something good for 25/25. Besides, for enthusiastic Ford GT owners, that's a drop in the proverbial bucket. Now, if we could just get the gurus over at Roush to lend us a proper test rig...

A coffee can muffler and some "Type R" stickers will add about 150hp for a total investment of about $20.

Any word on it's warranty compliance?
And Ford makes their own upgrades too:

Oh, and uh, FYI, the GT's claimed horsepower is 550, even though all stock GT's are putting down well over 500 at the wheels... ie it's under rated.

Sean Hyland will sell you a kit for "only" $5500 (installed) that'll get you an extra 130HP at the wheels.

Not bad if you can afford the GT to start with.

Question is - would you notice an extra 25/25? $300 is a drop in the bucket, so probably a no brainer for owners.

My friend's neighbor has an original Ford GT40 in his garage. Too bad that guy is looney.

I'm sorry, but any article that contains the word 'natch' either means you have no clue about forming sentences, or you're 18 and didn't graduate from highschool.
And the car colors are horrible.

Dear Stoneman,
someone ignorant enough not to recognize and appreciate the legendary Gulf colour scheme shouldn't be allowed to run a car blog. But as nobody is visiting your site anyway, I guess that doesn't matter.

I first off am not a fan of the ford GT... It is a great build for Ford but did not achieve what they were attemting... If you are going to build an amazing supercar, make sure you do it right... I think that porsche saw this when producing the carrera GT. Look for car pictures like these at www.carster.com
