Finally, someone is putting spinners to good use: the Santa Monica company AdFleet is looking to cash in on people’s
obsession with wheel trends by placing advertisements on taxis’ wheel covers. The covers will use spinner technology to
prevent rotation and will provide 16-inch diameter circles full of magically-static logos. Over 2,000 L.A. cabs will
carry the covers this month, touting Dodger baseball, Jiffy Lube and Taco Bell. AdFleet plans to bring similar
campaigns to Washington, Boston and Toronto. The idea apparently originated in the land famous for bringing the U.S.
some of the hottest properties, Singapore.
