There’s an inside joke that goes back maybe six or seven years in Autoblog history, centered around a very special shuttle driver who used to schlep us around during the annual Chicago Auto Show. We’d all load onto the bus, and he’d give us some lovely commentary about the Windy City while driving us to McCormick Place, and as we slowly filed out at the end of our journey, the driver would simply repeat, “Take yo’ time, noooo rush.”
In recent years, that phrase has sort of become a larger theme for the show – we certainly enjoy a more relaxed pace while covering Chicago. But that’s not to say this isn’t an important event. We see a lot of production cars here, including special editions and mid-cycle refreshes. And every now and then, something comes along and steals the show.
Still, it’s not nearly as crazy as Detroit, or say, Geneva. But it’s definitely a fun show to attend. See our full roster of Chicago coverage in the roundup, below. And take your time. No rush.
