Volkswagen is brooming its entire lineup of gasoline-only powered vehicles in Brazil by the end of the year. The
automaker will instead gravitate towards flex-fuel drivetrains that on ethanol, gasoline, or a mix thereof.

VW was the first automaker to launch a flexible-fuel powertrain back in 2003, and by 2005, the company’s Brazilian
ops were churning out about 300,000 such units per year– nearly 75-percent of its production in the country.

The brand holds a 35.5-percent flex-fuel market share in Brazil, with a lineup of ten such models.
