Earlier this month, Fifth Gear presenter and British Touring Car Championship driver Jason Plato was hurtbehind the wheel of the high-performance Caparo T1 supercar while filming a segment for the UK television show. In this video footage of the incident, all looks swell as Plato takes the car around a track, but towards the end of the test, the flames start to build and the car suddenly comes to screeching halt.
Jason escaped without sustaining serious injuries; just some burns to his left hand and neck. According to Caparo, they’ve corrected the fault that started the fire, although no word was given whether or not this was a production model or a prototype.
