Due to the popularity of Japanese small cars in the U.S., Nissan has decided to move up its launch of its
Tiida compact in the U.S. to the second half
of next year. North Americans got a sneak peek of the Tiida at this year’s New York Auto Show where the Sport Compact
concept was unveiled. This concept was a thinly veiled Tiida with aggressive bodywork and other auto show flair. Though
the Tiida is sold in Japan in both hatch and sedan form, only the hatchback is slated for the U.S. Other specs on the
Tiida, like available engines at launch, haven’t been released. The
Cube, a tall boxy wagon sold in Japan, is also scheduled
for the U.S. market sometime after the Tiida arrives.
