Lamborghini is among the
high-end boutique automakers feeling increasingly bullish about the burgeoning Indian high-end car market. The Italian
marque has just announced that it will bring its ‘volume’ model, the Gallardo, to India in the first quarter of
2006.
Lamborghini is following the lead of Rolls-Royce, Maybach, and Bentley, who have all made recent forays
into the marketplace. Locals shouldn’t expect to see the angular exotics on every street corner, mind: Lamborghini
reportedly only expects to ship two to three in all of 2006. This is probably just as well– with nightmarish tales of
deplorable roads and unebbing, undisciplined traffic, whether their new owners will actually have a place to run their
bulls remains an open question.
