Uncertainty and borderline despair are gripping the United Kingdom in a way the stormy little island hasn’t experienced since the Nazi’s failed bombing campaign. But one thing we can trust the Brits to do in the face of a crisis – and we hesitate to use this cliché – is to keep calm and carry on. And that’s precisely what
Jeremy Clarkson, of all people, is recommending as the country comes to grips with the outcome of the Brexit referendum.
Both Jeremy Clarkson and The Grand Tour co-host James May joined the raft of celebrities supporting the Stay side in the EU vote. The
two made headlines earlier this week when they appeared in a video explaining – in their own unique and special way – why the Brits should sick with the EU.
But that was not to be. The Leave movement won yesterday’s vote by a narrow margin, and now the global economy is in something of a tizzy. In the auto industry,
there’s concern among manufacturers as
their share prices plunge in markets. On a larger economic scale, stock exchanges around the world are reeling as
the British pound sterling dropped earlier today to its lowest level in over 30 years. And for Clarkson, the Leave vote cost his friend, Prime Minister David Cameron, his job.
