One way to encourage that a car will become an instant classic is to stop selling it. Apparently that’s the strategy
over at Daimler-Chrysler when it comes to the Smart Roadster-Coupe. After announcing that the company is killing the
featherweight coupe, it also announced a special
Brabus-tuned RCR edition that will send the
Roadster off in style. The RCR features a Brabus-tuned version of the car’s three-cylinder powerplant producing 101 bhp
mated to a six-speed manual transmission. It’s said that the car’s styling pays homage to the Brabus
biturbo V6 prototype that was unfortunately never produced. If the Smart brand ever does appear in North America,
it’s a cryin’ shame that the Roadster-Coupe won’t be part of the line-up.
