While it isn’t officially the fastest production car in the world yet, the Hennessey Venom F5 has been shattering records and making headlines for a few years now. The hypercar is the 1,817-horsepower brainchild of John Hennessey, owner of Hennessey Performance.
Hennessey knows a thing or two about building the fastest cars in the world, having debuted the Hennessey Venom GT back in 2011. Its successor, the Venom F5, is poised to hit a top speed of around 315 MPH—provided a long enough stretch of road is available.
Different versions of the Venom F5: Coupe, roadster, and revolution

Although it’s easy to think of the Venom F5 as a single vehicle, especially given that fewer than 100 units will be produced when production concludes, the lineup actually includes several distinct versions.
The original F5 is the Coupe, with only 24 of them in existence. Beyond that, you have the “Roadster,” a convertible version of the standard F5. Then there’s the Revolution Coupe, a track-focused variant designed to produce more downforce in the corners, trading off a small amount of straight-line speed for added grip. Finally, there are 12 Revolution Roadsters set to be built, which are essentially Revolutions with a removable hard top.
Every Venom F5 is one-of-a-kind
In addition to the main variants and their roadster equivalents, Hennessey has announced a few additional versions that bring new elements to the Venom F5 lineup. The F5-M Roadster, for instance, is a manual version of the standard Roadster, counting as part of the 30 Roadsters being built in total. The “Stealth” editions offer a high degree of customization, while the “Carbon Series” focuses on exposed carbon fiber finishes, contributing to the unique aesthetic of each hypercar.
It’s also worth noting that nearly every Venom F5 is a unique creation. Hennessey works closely with each customer to deliver bespoke options, including personalized paint jobs, interiors, seats, and even hidden Easter eggs within each car. With so much variation and such limited supply, it wouldn’t be surprising if each F5 ends up having its own nickname in the future—like a Rolex, but rarer and more exclusive.
More Venom F5 variants expected: Hennessey’s future plans
In terms of current availability, the F5 Coupe has long since sold out, and so has the Revolution Roadster. Both the Revolution Coupe and the standard (non-manual) Roadster are also nearly sold out, with unsold vehicles numbering in the single digits. But that doesn’t mean we’ve seen the last of the Venom F5.
Speaking to Autoblog, Hennessey confirmed that more F5 variants are on the way, saying: “Of course there are (more to come), but we’re not ready to talk about those just yet. We’ll talk about that when we’re ready to talk about that. There will be 99 F5s in total, the obvious numbers are the Coupes, and the Revolutions and the Revolution Roadsters.”
Crazy ideas are welcome
The creation of new Venom F5 variants isn’t just the result of Hennessey’s own vision. The hypercar manufacturer actively listens to its customers as well. The Venom F5 Revolution, for example, reportedly came about partially due to a customer with a private track who requested a more track-focused version of the vehicle.
The idea of incorporating a manual transmission in the F5 was always on Hennessey’s mind but had to wait until production was further along and the engineering team had more resources available.
Speaking specifically about the manual F5, Hennessey said: “It’s all about the driving experience. It’s ludicrous to think of a car with 1,800 horsepower and powering it through a manual transmission. But that’s what we do; we’re in the business of creating crazy, unimaginable, unrivaled hypercars. It’s such a crazy idea it makes perfectly good sense.”
Final Thoughts
Hennessey has confirmed that more Venom F5 variants are on the way. With 90 units accounted for, that leaves nine remaining. Logically, we might expect one major variant and perhaps another twist on that design. But this is John Hennessey we’re talking about, and he’s anything but predictable. If you want a “safe” bet on the future of the F5, expect the unexpected—a curveball that somehow ties in with Hennessey’s strong sense of nostalgia.
For a truly wild guess, how about a Venom F5 Hybrid? Imagine all the raw power of that beastly V8, with even more torque, around 200 additional horsepower, and marginally improved fuel efficiency. Of course, this is purely speculative, but with Hennessey’s love for pushing boundaries, anything is possible.
