GM to offer employee discount to customers

There is news from GM dealers that GM is extending employee discounts to all customers
starting June 1. The GM discount offer is supposed to be in effect for a month and almost every GM vehicle will be
covered. The employee discount can put a car four percent under invoice, but it does vary between
individual models. This could create some nice values in the market. The Pontiac GTO for example could be
well under $30k with the employee discount and the rebates. That is Mustang GT territory. Or it could bring the
Pontiac G6 well under $20k. Saabs are looking more appealing now. This is a way for GM to offer rock
bottom prices to its customers without hurting the dealerships too much. GM will profit less per car sold,
but maybe this will help reduce inventories.
