Wow. It doesn’t get any better for me, this is it. 7.0-liter, 500 horsepower, 475 lb-ft of torque. Garsh. The Z06
pics officially launched today, although everybody has seen most of these. The Z06 has different body work in the rear
to accommodate the massive 19Ă—12 inch Eagle F1 Supercar tires. The Z06 weighs 49 pounds less than the standard Vette
and expect 0-60 times in the mid 3’s. More info and pictures at the link.

The Z06 includes a completely new front facia with a larger grill for better cooling, a cold-air scoop and lower air
spliter.

The old weight trick of placing the battery at the rear of the car is employed on the Z06. Moving the battery
towards the back of the car helps remove the front-end weight bias.

The Z06 does not lose any of the creature comforts that you might expect. Changes to the Z06 interior include more
aggressive seat side bolsters, the passenger seat has only manual controls to save on weight and the accoustic package
was changed to save weight.

The Z06 will start production in the second half of 2005.

The 427 is back in a Corvette. The all new 7.0-liter V-8 is the largest small block ever produced by GM, and with
the 500/475 numbers it is also the most powerful engine to grace a GM passenger car. To save weight, the engine uses
titanium connecting rods, pushrods and valve springs. There?s a 11.0:0 compression ratio and a redline that pushes
7000.
