Xeni Jardin of Boing Boing was the guest of NPR’s Day to Day show where she got to rant
about a newly iPod outfitted BMW. Xeni liked the sound quality calling it “super sweet” compared to the current iPod
interfaces on the aftermarket. And also essential to any good car tune these days are steering wheel mounted
controls. Unfortunately as we’ve reported and as Xeni found distasteful, the name of the songs don’t appear on the
regular stereo display. Oh, and there’s no “slot” or anywhere else to rest your iPod safely in the glove compartment.
It just bangs around as Xeni’s friends shoved sunglasses, keys, and whatever else they could find in there.
