Chrysler turns down Dukes of Hazzard tie-in

Chrysler has decided not to jump on board the marketing juggernaut that will be the new Dukes of Hazzard movie starring Stiffler, Jackass creator Johnny Knoxville and the endearingly ditzy Jessica Simpson. The company cites the large confederate flag that adorns the roof of Bo and Luke Duke’s 1969 orange Dodge Charger, a.k.a. the General Lee, as reason for its passing on the marketing tie-in. Our hopes of a Hazzard County edition of Dodge and Chrysler vehicles have officially been dashed. Is this a smart move by a company that’s on a roll or an overreaction to the possibility of offending people who are always offended?
