The forthcoming C6 (sixth-gen) Corvette coupe and convertible (on sale this fall) will have prices below those of
the 2004 models, even though a larger engine is present. The coupe will have an MSRP of $44,425, the convertible
$52,245. Both bring more value to the balding, newly-ponytailed motorist by featuring standard six-speed manual
transmissions which were $900 options last year. An updated four-speed auto is also available, as is a $2000 power
convertible top and a $1400 DVD-Nav system. The C6 Vette will be put together in GM’s Bowling Green, Kentucky plant,
where the Cadillac XLR (which uses Vette underpinnings) is also assembled.
