A metal carport can be a huge upgrade if you need more covered space but don’t want to build a full garage. It can be used for parking a car, truck, SUV, boat, trailer, mower, or other equipment, but it can also double as a covered place to work on vehicles. They’re a solid alternative for anyone doing maintenance, detailing, repairs, or weekend projects and want some protection from sun and rain. It can also create extra space for tools, outdoor gear, hobby projects, and seasonal storage without taking over the garage.
Thanks to this clearance sale at Walmart, the Walsunny 12-Foot by 20-Foot Metal Carport is on sale for just $400, which is a massive $500 discount on a large steel carport built for vehicles, equipment, and outdoor storage. The structure measures 12 feet wide, 20 feet long, and 9.1 feet tall, giving it enough room for many cars, trucks, boats, and larger pieces of gear. It’s built with square steel tubing, a galvanized steel roof, and a powder-coated steel frame for durability and rust resistance.
The biggest thing about this carport in particular is how much covered space you’re getting for the money. A fabric canopy option can work for occasional shade, but a metal carport is a better fit if you want something more substantial for year-round parking, tool storage, vehicle projects, or protecting equipment from everyday exposure. The frame is built with reinforced connection points, an upgraded base, waterproof sealing tape at the roof seams, and rubber strips along the roof edges to help with weather protection.
It’s also versatile enough to use as a shaded outdoor work area, a covered gathering space, or a place to keep lawn equipment and project materials dry. For anyone who doesn’t have enough garage space, this could be a solid way to add a dedicated parking or work area without jumping into a much larger building project.
