If you’ve ever sanded a large area by hand, the value of a belt sander is obvious. If you haven’t but are planning on working with older wood furniture, shelving, or cabinetry any time soon, a belt sander will save you tons of time along with your fingertips. Right now, Walmart has a cordless belt sander from a trusted tool brand on sale with a serious discount.
The Milwaukee M18 Fuel Cordless Belt Sander is on sale for $219 at Walmart, 40% off its normal $363 price tag. This price is for the bare tool only, but it is compatible with any other Milwaukee M18 batteries you own and those you can purchase for as little as $42.
The Powerstate brushless motor offers power equivalent to an 8A corded motor with the freedom of a cordless tool, something that’s particularly useful given a belt sander’s utility in sanding down large, flat surfaces. It can move the belt to cover between 750 and 1,350 square feet per minute, so you can choose the best speed for the materials being sanded. More than 85% of the dust produced can be sucked into either the cotton dust bag or a vacuum via the universal adapter. Rounding things out are dual LED work lights, automatic belt tracking, and an adjustable pommel to ensure flush sanding. Along with the tool, dust bag, and vac adapter, this sander comes with an 80-grit sanding belt.
Along with its compatibility with M18 batteries — the same batteries that power over 250 other cordless power tools from impact drivers to weed whackers — this sander has another Milwaukee-specific feature that we love. Redlink Plus Intelligence is technology built into many of their tools that optimizes tool performance while protecting both tool and battery from overloads, overheating, and over-discharge. It means a more efficient tool and a longer lifetime for the batteries you use in this sander.
