It hasn’t even been a month since the summer solstice, yet the days are already getting noticeably shorter across the country. Americans have lost roughly 15 to 20 minutes of daylight over the last few weeks, and they’re going to lose even more in the coming months.
Thankfully, you won’t have to worry about the sun setting before 8 p.m. for about another month. But darker days are definitely on the horizon, so it would be a good idea to start planning now by installing new exterior lights on your home if you don’t currently have reliable lighting. A pair of the Kuyimy Outdoor Solar Lights can help you do it, and they won’t require a big investment. These lights normally retail for $20 at Amazon, but as part of a limited-time deal, they’re selling for only $10 at the moment.
Measuring approximately 5.5 inches wide, 4 inches tall, and 2.5 inches thick, these lights are on the smaller side, but their size doesn’t hold them back in terms of brightness. They’re capable of delivering up to 1,000 lumens from their 230 LED beads and are built to blanket properties with plenty of light thanks to their 270-degree wide-angle design. They also boast motion detectors that can detect people and animals up to 16 feet away, helping dramatically enhance your home’s security once the sun goes down.
Additionally, these lights are equipped with monocrystalline silicon solar panels that absorb sunlight throughout the day and charge their batteries in about 6 to 8 hours. This provides enough juice to illuminate your home’s exterior for up to 12 hours, depending on which of their three lighting modes you choose. The lights are also constructed from waterproof, corrosion-resistant materials, allowing them to last for upwards of 40,000 hours before needing replacement.
“These are excellent motion-detecting lights,” one reviewer wrote. “They’re easy to install, bright, and work perfectly — what more could I ask for? They’re the real deal.”
“They’re brighter and more reliable than my wired lights!” another reviewer remarked. “I’m so impressed with their output.”
