Lighting up your backyard is a good idea for a few different reasons. One, it’s a deterrent to intruders both human and animal. Two, it allows you to enjoy your private corner of the great outdoors long after the sun sets. A solar light is the easiest, greenest way to illuminate your outdoor space, and right now Walmart has a great solar street light available with a substantial discount.
The Irtto Solar Street Light is on sale for $30 at Walmart, 44% off its normal $54 price tag. This price is good on the brighter model; a dimmer option is $5 cheaper. It’s a very bright light that can flood a huge area, making it ideal for large spaces, particularly where you can mount it high off the ground.
44% OffDuring the day, the 81-square inch solar panel charges the 4,000mAh battery in 4 to 6 hours, depending on how sunny it is. At night, that battery powers a super bright LED array that can cover up to 2,152 square feet with a 240-degree beam angle. You can leave it on or opt for the motion sensor mode, which keeps the light at 20% brightness until motion is detected (up to 32.8 feet away). There’s also a timer mode that you can use the remote to set. It’s a solid feature set for this kind of light, and the fact that it’s waterproof and made of sturdy ABS plastic — a common material for outdoor applications — makes us more confident that it will stand up to the elements.
One shopper wrote that these are “excellent solar lights,” adding that they “got them for our pool area, and they are awesome.”
Other shoppers agreed, calling them “easy to install, super bright, and well made” and promising that they will order again because they’re “so bright.” Another noted that the motion sensor mode is wisely “designed to save battery power so it functions all night.”
