As its name suggests, there aren’t many everyday tasks that a multitool can’t do, from slicing open shipping boxes to tightening loose screws to cracking open a can of food. They’re particularly great for use in the great outdoors, on camping trips where there are lots of things to do and bringing along a full complement of tools isn’t feasible. Right now, Amazon has a multitool purpose-built for outdoor use going for half its typical price.
The HX Outdoors 19-in-1 Multitool is on sale for $31, half of the $63 it will typically cost you. This price is good on the silver version only, as the black edition remains stubbornly for sale at full price.
The 19 functions of this multitool are long nose pliers, regular pliers, hard wire cutter, soft wire cutter, fire starter, whistle, awl with thread loop, large slotted screwdriver, small slotted screwdriver, can opener, wire stripper, double-tooth saw, wood/metal file, glass breaker, hammer, scissors, ruler, belt clip, and a serrated blade knife. All are made of high-end stainless steel that’s rustproof and corrosion-resistant. When closed, it’s just 4.45 inches long and very easy to carry in a pocket or clipped to a backpack. Undo the self-locking mechanism to open it up and reveal the long nose pliers whose handles hold the rest of the tools, all ready to swing out when necessary. It also comes with a carrying pouch and waterproof box that can hold other small items together with this tool, both eminently useful accessories.
“This multitool has good quality tools that all deploy smoothly and lock into place securely,” one shopper wrote. “Every blade is sharp and the can opener is very sharp too!”
Other customers celebrated the “top-notch” build quality of this tool that’s “a lifesaver for any outdoor enthusiast or handyman.” It’s a “reliable and practical tool” that’s “loaded with features.”
Multitools can cost well over $100, so the chance to get a durable, useful model like theHX Outdoors 19-in-1 Multitool for a hair over $30 is not to be missed. Whether you’ve got camping trips on the horizon or just want to stash something useful in your glovebox, this multitool does everything you need it to do — and probably a lot more.
