E-bikes are ubiquitous on city streets where everyone from delivery workers carrying takeout to parents carrying young kids enjoys a mode of transportation perfectly suited to busy urban environments. But lest one think that e-bikes are strictly for paved roads, there are plenty of great options for gravel roads, mountain trails, and similarly rugged settings. And, one such mountain e-bike is on sale right now.

The Gocio Electric Mountain Bike is on sale for $400 at Walmart, 41% off its normal $680 price tag. This deal is good on both colorways, light blue and seafoam green, which are actually more accurately described as accent colors on the black frame and wheels.

A 48V 10.4Ah lithium battery powers the 750W motor at the heart of this bike, which can reach speeds up to 20 mph. The exciting part of this bike, however, is a bit lower. It has what the manufacturer calls an “exclusive” adjustable lockable front suspension fork. It allows the rider to switch between damping mode (for a comfortable ride on rough off-road trails) and rigid mode (for stable control on smooth surfaces). It’s a clever innovation that pairs nicely with the 27.5-inch mountain tires that are plenty chunky enough for rough terrain. The simple LCD display shows battery level, speed, pedal assist level, and miles ridden. And finally, this bike’s safety bona fides are also solid, as it’s UL 2849-certified for a safe electric system and has responsive front and rear disc brakes for short stoppage.

One first-time e-bike rider had nothing but good things to say about this bike. “Assembly was super easy,” they started, adding that “the controls are easy to understand and use.” Even in pedal assist mode, they are “able to take some pretty long and steep hills at 18 mph without getting out of breath. These are hills I would never in my wildest dreams think about tackling on a regular 21 speed bike.”

Other shoppers variously called this bike “very sturdy and good looking” and “super fast” with a “long lasting” battery.

Deals We’re Loving

The Gocio Electric Mountain Bike is obviously great for nature explorers, but even city riders who find themselves navigating lots of potholes or taking a shortcut through the park will find a lot to like. Its $400 price tag is something else that everyone can agree on, as it’s quite competitively priced for a bike this capable.
