A drill or impact driver is only as good as the bits it spins, so a good screwdriver bit set — one that’s both comprehensive and durable — isn’t an option for anyone who actually needs to get things done with their power tool. Right now, Amazon has a very good bit set, a 45-piece option from noted quality toolmaker DeWalt, on sale with a very big discount.
The DeWalt 45-Piece Screwdriver Bit Set is on sale for $15, 35% less than its $23 list price for a set that’s been purchased more than 6,000 times in the last month. It includes many iterations of flat, Phillips, square, and Torx screwdriving bits along with two nut drivers (1/4-inch and 5/16-inch), a magnetic drive guide, and a case that’s compatible with DeWalt’s small and medium boxes that are part of DeWalt’s TouchCase+ storage system.
Top SellerThe bits themselves come in four different styles, 12 different sizes, and lengths from 1 to 3.5 inches. Eight are double-ended, meaning that this kit actually has 50 total tips, all of which are made of steel engineered to hold up under high-speed, high-torque conditions. The case is made of durable ABS plastic and has DeWalt’s patented bit-bar design that allows you to rotate an entire row of bits up, exposing the one you need for easier removal. It also has a clear lid, so you can easily see the contents, along a clip latch for secure closing and transport.
Nearly 35,000 people have reviewed this very popular set, and the vast majority have positive things to say about it. One professional wrote that “the bits feel substantial” with a “notable heft and a precise finish.” Their machining “ensures a snug fit with fasteners, significantly reducing cam-out,” the name for a bit slipping out of a fastener, a frustrating and potentially dangerous situation.
Other shoppers variously wrote that “every piece feels solid and well-crafted,” this kit as a whole is a “good investment,” and this “versatile bit set earned a permanent spot in my tool bag” because it’s just that handy. Overall, they’re “very useful, compact, practical, and functional,” all that you want in a set of screwdriver bits.
