Power drills and impact drivers look similar but perform different functions, and the same can be said about the bits you use with them. An impact driver can quickly mangle a standard set of drill bits, so the only option is to use it with bits that are built to stand up to higher impact and higher torque conditions. Right now, Amazon has a set of bits that fit the bill on sale for less than half of their list price.
The DeWalt 38-Piece Impact Driver Bit Set is on sale for $31, 56% off its normal $70 price tag. That works out to less than a dollar a piece for a comprehensive set of bits, accessories, and a carrying case to keep everything organized and secure by itself or as part of DeWalt’s ToughCase+ system.
56% OffThe 38 pieces in this set include insert, drywall, power, and double-ended #2 Phillips bits, 3/8-inch drive deep sockets and an adapter, a pair of nut drivers, and both magnetic and pivoting bit tip holders. They are made of a special steel designed to be ultra durable and treated with a black oxide powder coat finish for greater wear resistance and strength, and they can be used with impact tools rated for up to 2,000 inch-pounds of torque. The set is stored in a case that features DeWalt’s patented bit-bar design that makes it easy to take them out, a clear lid that makes it easy to see what’s inside without opening, and a clip latch for secure closing.
One customer who uses this set professionally wrote that “it covers the common bits you might need” and “the four sockets in common sizes are also pretty helpful.” The bits themselves are high-quality, and “the coating keeps rust at bay pretty well.”
Another shopper called this a “good quality kit for the money” because they “like the quality of the pieces and it is nice to have everything in one kit.”
