DeWalt does more than just manufacture some of the best tool sets in the industry. It’s also continually upgrading its existing sets to make them even better, which has played a significant role in helping the brand endure for over a century.
Case in point: The DeWalt 142-Piece Mechanics Tool Set. We featured this set almost exactly a year ago, and it already had a lot going for it. But since then, DeWalt has made a few subtle improvements and released a newer version for tool enthusiasts. And while these refinements come at a slight cost — the old set retailed for $155, while the new one costs $176 — you can pick up the latest set for a deeply discounted price at Amazon right now. The retailer has it marked down to $109 at the moment.
The set includes 142 pieces and comes with a pair of 1/4-inch and 3/8-inch ratchets, along with a large assortment of SAE and metric sockets. Each tool is constructed from chrome-vanadium steel and polished with a chrome finish to enhance strength and durability.
Plus, each tool features DeWalt’s proprietary DirectTorque technology to prevent them from rounding fasteners, thereby making them much more challenging to work with. The ratchets at the center of this set also have low-profile designs, with heads that are 20% thinner than the standard “pear-head” ratchets.
“Durable, hardworking tools,” one reviewer wrote. “This set comes with a wide range of sockets, ratchets, and accessories that are made with high-quality steel and designed to withstand heavy use. It also includes a sturdy, organized case to keep everything in place.”
“It’s a tool box with everything but the kitchen sink,” another shopper added. “Its case holds it all securely and, when opened, you can see the markings for socket sizes easily.”
The DeWalt 142-Piece Mechanics Tool Set is 38% off at Amazon. Take your tool collection to the next level by upgrading to it today.
