A good socket set is one of the most useful things you can keep in a garage, especially if you work on cars, trucks, lawn equipment, trailers, e-bikes, or bigger projects around the house. A 1/2-inch drive set is even more handy when you need some extra leverage that a smaller ratchet can’t comfortably provide. It can be useful for suspension work, wheels, brackets, mower maintenance, equipment repairs, and other jobs where larger fasteners are involved. For DIYers, gearheads, and anyone who likes keeping a well stocked garage, a quality socket set from a name brand is an easy tool purchase to justify.
Thanks to this deal we found at Walmart, the Craftsman V-Series 21-Piece Socket Set is on sale for just $100, a 41% discount on a name brand set built for automotive work and other garage projects. The set includes a Craftsman V-Series 96-tooth 1/2-inch drive comfort grip ratchet, 17 metric shallow sockets, two locking extension bars, and one universal joint. The included sockets range from 8 to 32 millimeters, covering a wide range of common metric sizes.
41% OffThe V-Series ratchet has a 3.75-degree arc swing, which helps in tighter spaces where you don’t have much room to move the handle. The 6-point sockets are designed to reduce fastener rounding and stripping, while the anti slip socket grooves help with grip in oily or heavily lubricated environments. The full polish chrome finish adds corrosion resistance, and the case has detection wells so you can quickly see if a socket or accessory is missing. It’s probably more than someone needs for the occasional loose bolt around the house, but for automotive work, equipment maintenance, and more serious garage projects, this is a strong set at $100, especially with Craftsman’s full lifetime warranty.
One repeat tool user said, “I’ve bought and used Snap-On and Matco my entire career. This series of Craftsman works better and lasts longer without wearing out.”
Another buyer kept it short and sweet, saying, “[It’s an] excellent Craftsman product for the price.”
