Overview
The 2025 McLaren Artura is a plug-in hybrid supercar in coupe and convertible formats, and the successor to the McLaren 570S. It sits below the 750S in McLaren’s road-car range and serves as the brand’s entry point. The 2025 Artura pairs a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 with an axial-flux electric motor for a combined 690 horsepower and 531 lb-ft of torque.
Power goes to the rear wheels through an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. McLaren says the Artura can reach 60 mph in 3.0 seconds and tops out at 205 mph. Built around the company’s MCLA carbon-fiber architecture, the Artura targets buyers who want supercar pace, sharp responses, and plug-in capability without moving into a larger exotic.

What’s New for 2025
The biggest addition is the 2025 McLaren Artura Spider, which brings an open-top option with a retractable hardtop that operates in 11 seconds. McLaren says the Spider delivers nearly the same performance as its coupe counterpart.
Engine output rises from 671 horsepower to 690 horsepower, while McLaren’s claimed electric-only range increases to 21 miles through revised battery management. The 2025 Artura features an upgraded exhaust system, revised suspension tuning with a faster damper response thanks to a new electrical architecture, stiffer powertrain mounts, improved aerodynamic ducting that improves cooling, and updated brakes. In addition, updated transmission software allows gear shifts that are 25% quicker.
The car gets a new silver 15-spoke wheel design as standard, but a new Orum (gold) Dynamo and Star wheel option is offered, while the Caliber 10-spoke Super-Lightweight wheel is now available in Dark Stealth, Silver, or Gloss Black, with optional titanium wheel bolts. Additional standard MY2025 driver assists include lane-departure alert and speed-limit detection.

Exterior
The 2025 Artura uses a compact, low-slung shape that reflects its mid-engine layout and performance focus. Slim LED headlights, sculpted side intakes, and the brand’s signature dihedral doors define the look. The lines are tightly drawn to manage airflow for cooling and aerodynamic efficiency rather than relying on oversized add-ons. Coupe and Spider models share the same design language, and the Spider’s retractable hardtop folds without disturbing the car’s clean proportions.

Interior
Inside, the Artura follows a minimal layout that places the focus on driving. The cabin includes an 8.0-inch portrait-oriented touchscreen, a 10.25-inch digital instrument display, and a clean center console with few physical controls. Standard sport seats are trimmed in Alcantara, while Nappa leather is available for a more upscale finish. McLaren also gives the driver access to multiple powertrain and handling settings, including E-Mode, Comfort, Sport, and Track. Seating is limited to two. Trunk space is modest, with the front cargo area offering 5.65 cu-ft of storage. That is enough for light weekend luggage, but practicality is not the main point here.

Fuel Economy (MPG)
Against competitors, fuel economy is not the central selling point, though the plug-in setup gives the McLaren Artura a limited ability to cover short distances without using the V6. For 2025, McLaren states that the Artura can travel 21 miles on electricity alone, while the EPA data are for the 2023 model year.

Pros and Cons
Pros:
- 690-hp PHEV powertrain with quick response and seamless torque delivery
- Carbon-fiber structure and relatively low weight support precise handling
- 5-year unlimited-mile warranty generous for the segment
Cons:
- Brake pedal feel can be difficult to modulate at low speeds
- Infotainment presentation trails some rivals
- Electric-only range remains limited in real-world use
Verdict
The 2025 McLaren Artura is a stronger version of McLaren’s first series-production hybrid supercar. The updated power output, added Spider body style, and revised transmission, suspension, and exhaust improve the package without changing its core identity. This 2025 Artura still prioritizes low weight, rear-wheel-drive balance, and sharp responses over cabin luxury or visual drama.
Buyers shopping the McLaren Artura Coupe or Spider will find a car focused on driving precision first. The hybrid system does not make it an efficiency leader, and some rivals feel richer inside, but the McLaren Artura remains one of the more disciplined and technically interesting choices in the modern supercar class.
