The Subaru Legacy in a Nutshell
The Legacy is no more, but Subaru’s still got an overstock of them to keep selling them in 2026. It wrapped up production after 36 years, and it seems that there won’t be a successor for quite some time. The discontinuation of the Legacy is a reminder of just how far the midsize sedan market has tumbled over the years.
The final generation of the Legacy was produced from 2019 to 2025. It received a facelift in 2023 and received additional equipment until its final model year.

2025 Subaru Legacy Lease Deals for January
Even though production ended months ago, there are still lease deals available for the recently discontinued sedan. Only one trim is available with a lease promo at the moment, and it’s the Premium that sits just above the base model.
This specific trim of the Legacy can be leased for $319 for a 36-month lease, with $3,959 due at lease signing. It’s $0.15 per mile over 10,000 miles per year, and the offer is valid until February 2, 2026.

2025 Subaru Legacy Highlights
The Legacy is no longer available on the Subaru website, but what we can tell you is that there are five trims to choose from with base prices ranging from $26,810 to $40,110. The trims are Base, Premium, Sport, Limited, and Touring XT. But regardless of grade chosen, all come standard with advanced driver assists, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, steering responsive headlights, and active torque vectoring working in conjunction with Subaru’s signature Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system.
Premium trims then benefit from a larger 11.6-inch infotainment screen, wireless phone connectivity, and a driver’s side power seat. Above that is the Limited that gains leather, larger 18-inch alloys, and a Harman/Kardon sound system. Meanwhile, the Sport includes everything fitted to the Limited, plus sportier exterior and interior accents, while the Touring XT gets Nappa leather, heated and ventilated seats, and more driver assists.
Speaking of engines, the base, Premium, and Limited are powered by a 2.5-liter, naturally-aspirated boxer engine that makes 182 horsepower and 176 lb-ft of torque. Sport and Touring XT trims swap that for a turbocharged 2.4-liter boxer mill with 260 hp and 277 lb-ft.

Final Thoughts
Gone, but not forgotten. The Legacy might have been axed, but let’s remember how it elevated Subaru as a brand and helped bring it to new heights. The sentimental aspect aside, it’s still one of the least expensive cars you can get with all-wheel drive standard, and its size makes it a practical proposition. Heck, it even helped the brand get a few more sales out the door last year. We say give it a chance before it’s gone for good.
