The 2026 BMW iX in a Nutshell
We can still remember the comments when BMW first rolled out the iX back in mid-2021. To say its design was polarizing was an understatement, but it’s safe to say that it generated a good amount of buzz for Munich’s first dedicated EV crossover. Yes, the first-generation iX3 came first, but that was literally a previous-generation X3 adapted as an EV. The all-new iX3 is a totally different animal, though.
Before we get carried away, let’s go back to the iX. It was given a major technical update for the 2026 model year. The exterior was given a bit of a nip and tuck, new software for the infotainment system, tweaks to the interior, and, most importantly, powertrain improvements.

2026 BMW iX Lease Deals for January
A new month means a new batch of lease deals for the iX. As always, all trims can be leased for less, starting at $699 for 36 months with $5,259 due at signing. That’s for the entry-level xDrive45, and leasing periods run for 36 months for the remaining two trims.
In the middle of the range is the xDrive60, which gets more power and more range. For that, it’s $799 per month with $7,099 due at signing. At the top is the M70 that goes for $999 per month with $8,419 due at signing. There is additional loyalty credit available, worth $2,000, for qualified customers, and it’s $0.30/mile beyond 30,000 miles. Offer is valid through February 2, 2026.

2026 BMW iX Highlights
The 2026 iX carries a base price of $75,150, all the way to $111,500. As mentioned, the trims are xDrive45, xDrive60, and the M70. All come standard with the latest iDrive software, heated front seats, heated steering wheel, panoramic roof, quad-zone climate control, a Harman/Kardon sound system, and advanced driver assists. Various option packages are available for all trims that’ll bump up those prices in no time.
All come with a dual-motor arrangement and all-wheel drive, but power and range vary per trim. The xDrive45 packs 402 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque, a 100.1 kWh battery, and a range of up to 312 miles. Meanwhile, the xDrive60 puts out 536hp and 564 lb-ft, and is complemented by a 113.4kWh pack and up to 340 miles per charge. As for the M70, it’s the punchiest of the group with 610 hp and 811 lb-ft of torque, although range is down 302 miles from its 112.3 kWh pack.

Final Thoughts
Like the look or not, the beauty of the iX is on the inside, literally and figuratively. The cabin is well-appointed, and its spaciousness adds to the plush ambiance. At the same time, it’s surprisingly good to drive for something that weighs about the same as a base Chevrolet Tahoe, plus performance and range are pretty competitive. The styling is for the more daring folk, but they’re rewarded by an EV that has loads of substance.
