Test Drive Unlimited 2 features character customization – Click above to watch video after the jump

Can you think of something missing from the current crop of automotive video games? If you said cosmetic surgery then you must work for Atari. The upcoming Test Drive Unlimited 2 is going to let you customize more than you car. Your on-screen avatar can appear exactly how you want it to thanks to numerous facial and clothing options. This game seems to be more about living vicariously through a digital Mary Sue, than racing cars. How did games become like this?

To be honest, I'm still playing the first one and loving every minute even though for a while now the crowds of players have been missing.

Who the heck cares about this sort of stupid cosmetic stuff, i don't even care about the clothes and stuff in the first one.

It has quite a few cars, you can drive them on a wide range of roads and experience 4 levels of traction control + hardcore mode which really turns up the realism. The graphics are great, playing it 1920x1080 with everything turned to max and if you felt like it you could make yourself a wallpaper from an in-game screenshot.

There is tuning but its a basic sort "level 1, 2,3" and little in terms of customization.

What I want from TDU 2 is more (and more recent cars) better tuning and more customization than just changing the paint.

Better graphics will inevitably come along but overall, I loved the first one and am looking forward to TDU 2.

So what if this has features that are similar to other games, you really feel that nowadays everything is unique and follows it's own route? Get real...

Me and FordGTGuy must be the only ones who gets the point of this game.. Its about living the life, not just driving. leave it to autobloggers to bitch when somebody actually tries to do something original with racing games.

It's funny how you guys ignore the fact that up until now the only thing they have been showing off are the vehicles and scenery but the second they show custom avatars, which are a part of the game, you have a fit.

I put 500+ hours into the first TDU and it was a fantastic game to hang out with friends and cruise around Hawaii. This game continues on the first but now includes almost a 1000 miles of dirt roads and a new island including a revamped Oahu with more roads including dirt roads.
