2010 VW Tiguan Track & Avenue – Click above for high-res image gallery

Another dressed up offering has landed on that island haven for special editions, the UK. This time, it's the Volkswagen Tiguan Track & Avenue. Called a "very expressive off-roader," English types will be able to buy it in either "Oryx White Pearl Effect" or "Island Grey Pearl Effect." Not that you'd take those pretty 19-inch Savannah alloys off-road, but there's a specially angled front end with a silver skid plate so you can look like you would.

Inside is lots of amaranth-colored leather in "Heavy Waxy" grade (it looks better than it sounds), along with sport seats and a high-end stereo. Engine choices number four, in both petrol and diesel, topping out at the 200 horsepower 2.0-liter gasoline variant. It will start at €38,225 (a princely $56k USD, but remember – U.K. prices are still higher than that of their U.S. counterparts) for the 2.0-liter TSI diesel with a manual transmission and 170 hp. Read about it in the press release after the jump, and have a look at our gallery of high-res photos below.

PRESS RELEASE:

The New Tiguan Track & Avenue
Stylish and elegant special edition can be ordered now

Wolfsburg, 08 December 2009 - Volkswagen is extending its Tiguan model range with a special edition: the Tiguan Track & Avenue. High-end materials predominate in its interior; on the exterior subtle body modifications and 19-inch alloy wheels round out its sporty look. This new special model of the popular SUV can be ordered now.

The new Tiguan Track & Avenue rides on standard 19-inch "Savannah" alloy wheels, and it offers a price advantage of over 2,000 Euros when all of its elegant and stylish features are considered. Two special exterior colours are being offered on this very expressive off-roader: "Oryx White Pearl Effect" and "Island Grey Pearl Effect". The package also includes a 25 degree off-road front end, modest wheel flares and a silver-coloured diffuser.

The first-class equipment continues in the interior. The new Tiguan Track & Avenue has exclusive leather upholstery - "Heavy Waxy" in Amaranth - whose softness and durability make it one of the highest grade leathers. In addition, there are sport seats, an RCD 510 radio with Dynaudio sound system, "Climatronic" climate control and a leather-trimmed multifunction steering wheel with coloured seams. The package is rounded out with front fog lights and Bi-Xenon headlights with dynamic curve lighting.

The Tiguan Track & Avenue can be ordered in four engine-transmission combinations, all of them with a 6-speed gearbox. For example, the 2.0 TSI engine (147 kW / 200 PS) may be combined with a manual or automatic transmission. Two diesel engines with 2.0 l displacement complete the programme: the 103 kW / 140 PS engine paired with an automatic and the more powerful variant with a manual gearbox and 125 kW / 170 PS. Prices for the new Tiguan Track & Avenue begin at 38,225 Euros for the 2.0 l TSI with manual gearbox.

      Those seats look Photoshopped.

VW's press team needs to proof read better. I see two spelling mistakes in their statement that this car is a "very expressive off-roader" -- it should read "very expensive on-roader".

The 'conversions' are getting better. ;)

Looks like there may be a happy median between showing direct conversion and the guessing what actual price it would be if it were to be offered in the US (lower).

does VW know they put the steering wheel on the wrong side?

""very expressive off-roader"? I guess so, if your idea of off-roading means parking your SUV on the grass at your sprog's soccer game.
