Tramontana in fighter plane regalia - Click above for high-res image gallery

You've seen the Tramontana before, and now, you can see it in motion. This Spanish made beast sports a 100% carbon fiber chassis, a twin-turbocharged AMG 5.5-liter V12 that makes 720 hp and 811 lb-ft of torque, it weighs 2,500 pounds and looks like an F1 car designed for Robotech. 0-60 happens before you get in the car and top speed is orbit. Probably. Not only are Tramontana's more expensive than you could possibly imagine, but each one is designed around the owner. Plus, your passenger sits behind you. We like that. But possibly the craziest thing about the R Edition is a certain button on the dashboard. See, in "regular" grocery shopping mode, the big Mercedes motor spits out "just" 550 hp. Luckily there's a button labeled "720 HP" on the dash. Wish our car had that. Check the video of Tom from Fifth Gear driving it after you jump.

This or the Caparo T1 would be very interesting. Both ugly, both very fast.

I was thinking the same thing. I'm waiting for a match-up against the two...but I'm sure they'll pit this against a Veyron first (as is the standard nowadays).

If I had a 720hp button in my car, I'd be dead!

        Haha.

I'm trying to imagine the 720hp button in my Honda Fit right now.

Where the hell is the exhaust sound !!!!! the thing sounds nutless! Supercars are about the theater of it all. this thing is way too quite in my opinion. you cant even roll the windows down to hear the exhaust ... ohhhh wait IT DOESN'T HAVE AN EXHAUST SOUND! just give me a goddamn used F1 car of the v12 or v10 era and lets call it a day.

      So ugly.
What that thing needs is a car cover

"0-60 happen before you get in the car" -- great line.

Car is a little hard on the eyes but then again, you would be lucky to see it standing still.

They really need to get rid of the two guys on the couch. They just don't really add anything worth watching. I don't know why you would give this car to Tom to review. Such a waste.

I simply cannot stress how ridiculous Fifth Gear show is! Test-driving a Tramontana on city road is almost identical to test-driving a korean sedan on race track. Despite the claim of the bad weather though, I suppose audiences would prefer watching nothing rather than watching a supercar cruising at 50 km/h for most of the video. Not an extreme fan of top gear myself, but i think fifth gear does suck.

If by "exercise" you mean drive it around town like an old white lady going to church, then yes they exercised the crap out of it.

Wake me up when there's a video of the car doing something more exciting than what looks like my work commute.

I prefer 5th Gear to Top Gear... They are more down to earth.
When Top Gear came to Sydney, they sucked... I was quite disappointed.
