Chevrolet Camaro takes Dallas by force

Camaro parade through Dallas - Click above for an image gallery
Last week in (yet another) celebration of the arrival of the 2010 Camaro, a parade of some 40 Inferno Orange Metallic Camaros rumbled from Victory Park in Dallas to Sundance Square in Ft. Worth with a police motorcade. It was Chevrolet's first large-scale Camaro event, and hopefully it means that now we can get on to seeing them on the streets, instead of just talking about them being on the streets.
You can check out some short-n-shaky video clips of the event after the jump, including some footage of a vintage Eighties Garland Police Camaro, as well as the gallery of photos below. Thanks for the tip, Jason!

Fantastic, if the 10k markup on the v6 i passed on the way into work is any indication. O.o.
They've barely hit dealers, you might want to wait a month or so.

I've seen two on the road. Both RED. Both drop dead gorgeous! too bad I'm not in the market for a coupe.... this would be in my driveway!

They had a yellow one sitting outside a Chevy dealer, drove by the next day and it was already gone. I've seen 3 so far, one yellow, one black and one red. I love this car. Not only does it offer more performance than anything in it's price range, the car is stunningly beautiful and the interior is shockingly refined. I fell in love with it when I got into it at the NYAS and hopefully plan on buying one in 2-3 years.

i have seen them in all colors. blue, grey, red, orange, black and a white one. maybe i am wrong about some colours but i have seen a lot of them.
about the car i have to say i hate it (this does not mean in any way you have to). not because it doesn't look good or is crappy mechanics, i mean, that aside, the car is HUGE!!!!! like HUGE like a minivan fastback crossover. too long and too wide. the rims are huge and the back raises up too much.
i didn't notice the gargantuan size till i saw it on the streets. i like the stang better. and i say this being a Honda guy.

I saw my first one today on the road (like you, for a second) and at first glance it looked like a Challenger. The orange with dark gray or black stripes it had helped the confusion, plus it was kinda far away. It was an SS though and it was badass I was so psyched when I saw it

Anybody know what dealer's showroom is in picture 1? I was going to say Friendly Chevrolet on Stemmons Freeway (I-35E), but maybe it's a Fort Worth dealer?

Maybe Van Chevrolet?!?! It's just up 35 from Victory Park and I saw one that looked IDENTICAL to these (Camaro sticker across the windshield and all) sitting up on one of their risers out by the freeway for most of the week last week.

I love the color orange, but damn that looks cheap. IMO radical colors look better on more upscale cars, but more sophisticated/sedate colors are better choices for the... more accessible... models.

It looks very different in person... I saw a silver, red, and orange Camaro at the NY Auto Show and they all looked amazing! This is just a good looking muscle car... I can't think of a color that would make it look bad.

If you see the Inferno Orange in person, you'll fall in love with it. IFO looks so much better in person than it does in pictures. It's one of those colors that's impossible to get an accurate picture of because it changes so often in different lighting.

I live in Dallas and missed it!
I wish they'd bring the North American Autoshow to Dallas! We have one of the largest car markets in America. Plus our economy is not suffering like most.

At 2:31 in the second video, you can see the black C5 Corvette from the which the first video was shot. Then at the end, it turns left to follow the Camaros.

Are these the cars that will go on sale at the dealership? After they already racked up some miles on them for the caravan and parade?
