JDM Impreza S-GT pic leaked, along with specs

The good folks over at NASIOC procured the blurry (intentional?) shot above, along with some specs on the Japanese market Impreza. Thankfully, it looks like the de-chromed grille has made another appearance, which, by many accounts, is far better than the one shown on the production car unveiled in New York.
Aesthetics aside, according to the poster, the JDM market Impreza will dispatch the WRX moniker in favor of "S-GT." Why? We have no idea. But it strikes us as odd that Subaru would replace the highly praised three-letter designation.
Additionally, flyinpig posted specs on this body kit-equipped model, citing front brake sizes up to 16-inches (?), 15-inch solid discs in the rear and an AVCS twin-scroll turbo mated to the EJ20X boxer. Output on the revised four comes in at 250 HP and 246 lb.-ft. of torque, routed through the same five-speed manual found in the USDM vehicle, albeit with a final drive of 4.11 versus the 4.44 currently used.

I hate it when the measure the brake size by the minimum wheel size.
This ain't no Bentley with actual 16" front brake rotors.

that grill looks so much better than the ones on the other models, it actually makes the car look pretty good

I'm not trying to say that Subaru copied BMW, but do the lines on this car from the pictured angle remind anybody else of the BMW 3-series / M3?
Especially above the front wheel well.

Grill does make it look better, but overall this car is a styling disappointment. I hope it will go like stink on the road cause that is all it will have going for it!

Just because there will be an S-GT model doesn't mean there won't be a WRX as well. They have built Impreza RS, Outback, Outback Sport, and variously "Spec'd" WRXes and STis on the same platform for years and years, they might just be adding another to the mixture. Barring that, it might be possible they're conceding that this street-legal passenger car is, shockingly, not equipped to go rallying from the showroom floor... something I've learned the hard way with my WRX in the past.

Did anybody else notice that Subaru took off the info about the new impreza on their main page?
Hopefully they went back to the drawing board.

Bit dull looking. How on earth do Subaru expect to sell the WRX/STi/S-GT, or what ever the fast ones going to be called, when the new Evo comes out?

#8 -- They lost that rumble with the 06-07, actually, by giving the Imprezas equal length headers.
(Hooray for my 05)

Still looks pretty damn outdated to me. I dont care how much kit the slap on it. Its too round and boring looking. Its not even a WRX anymore.

Simple solution- black grill should be optional.

It looks like somebody installed BMW headlights on a Mustang front-end, then attached that to the body of an Accord. I can't decide whether to yawn or gag.
