Preview sketch of the next G35 coupe
UPDATE: According to Automotive News (Sub. Req.), the redesigned G35 will debut in New York, this April, along with a small crossover that may see production towards the end of the year.

We've tired of trying to discern what styling cues will be pulled from some of the concept sketches that come our way. Thankfully, the nice folks over at Nissan Sport have a thorough and thoughtful design analysis of the G35 coupe illustration that was released earlier today.
We'd encourage you click on over for their full breakdown, but a few elements are worthy of note.
The front bumper seems to have taken the brunt of the modifications, dispatching some of the angularity seen on the concept, while the two air intakes on the front bumper have been nixed in favor of a gaping inlet in the middle, accompanied by two smaller intakes on either side. The "katana" grille is still present, however the implausible (for the time being) door mounted cameras have been replaced with more conventional mirror units and the c-pillar's kink seems to have been smoothed out to better match the roof's plunge into the hatch.
Follow the link for a few other Nissan-obsessed writers' opinions and look for the production vehicle to, hopefully, bow sometime this year.
Thanks for the tip, Guru G!

Kinda frightening that it looks a lot like a Tiburon. Still, given the current coupe I am sure Infiniti will make one hell of a machine.

What DC_1 said, first thought was that it looks VERY much like the last gen or so Acura front ends.

I've been told by Miller Infiniti in Van Nuys, CA they will be receiving the new coupes in July. Hopefully that's still on track.

Since the 08 Altima coupe photos have been released, you can be pretty certain these G35 coupe pix can't be all that far off...

Why all the speculation? You can see undisguised front, side, and partial rear views (it's labeled 3500GT) of the upcoming G Coupe in the "Nissan" trailer for Gran Turismo : HD. The car is shown about 2/3rds of the way through the clip, which can be found on the following page :

The G35 has to compete with the new Lexus IS cars, they better have a nice lineup of engines for this car.

Nice smooth improvements.
Do not espescially care for the sharpe angle in the existing front bumper.
Like the smoother version pictured as well as the re-styled air intakes.
Very nice.
Big fan and subcriber of Nissan Sport. It has greatly improved recently.

Nissan is the Ford of Japan, Infiniti is not a luxury division. Just look at their sorry interiors.

Is this really all new or Nissan's cheap approach to restyling an existing vehicle? I was looking at the all new Altima. It's more like an update to me. I thought that they would come out with something new.

What's the last one you were in? If you see the M or new G35 Sedan, you'll change your mind.

I can't help it, but I keep thinking that I'm looking at an Acura RL (Honda Legend) coupe concept.
