Daimler North America is finding there's a good deal of interest in carsharing in the Great White North. Turns out that Calgary, Alberta is the fastest-growing city so far for in the global Car2go network. Since launching on July 21, 2012, more than 15,000 people have signed up to become members and have taken more than 40,000 trips. In a move to get more millennials exposure with their brand, Ford has announced a partnership with Zipcar to add 1000 vehicles to Zipcar's university program, making them Zipcars largest partner on college campuses. Zipcar is a car-sharing service that offers vehicle reservations by the hour in many metro and university areas. Reservations can be made from the web or booked through your smartphone. Zipcar's university program spans over 250 U.S. college campuses.

Zipcar, a car sharing service with more than 7,000 vehicles and 400,000 members across the U.S., is reaching out to a younger crowd by offering its services to under-21 drivers in the Cambridge, MA area. Zipcar, along with social rideshare partner Zimride, will double its on-campus fleet to 20 vehicles at Harvard University, while also expanding its service in the surrounding area by offering more than 160 cars off-campus.

Car sharing company Zipcar has responded to the Toyota Prius recall by shutting down rentals of that particular model until the "brake concerns have been addressed appropriately by Toyota." How many Priuses are there in Zipcar's fleet? All told, Zipcar has around 6,500 cars, and less than one percent of them are Priuses. Earlier, Zipcar stopped rentals of 2009 and 2010 Toyota Matrix models because of a safety recall.

Zipcar has long targeted the college crowd with their car sharing options. Now, thanks to an expanded partnership with Zimride, an online carpool app, an estimated 430,000 students at 15 universities can access the application. The two companies announced the deal at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas today and the new schools are UC Irvine, UC Berkeley, University of San Francisco, University of Maryland and George Mason University.

Zipcar has unveiled a new service that makes carsharing easier to use for government and fleet operators. FastFleet is being rolled out in Washington, D.C. and differs from Zipcar in one big way: clients supply their own vehicles. FastFleet simply allows fleet operators to use Zipcar's wireless, in-vehicle access technology. This means that the fleets don't need to be kept in a central location and users can use their Internet-connected devices to find out when and where a vehicle is available.

Menlo Park. Los Angeles. Chicago. Washington, DC. New York. London. These cities share at least one thing in common: they are all home to current or future Telsa Motors stores. Tesla officially announced today that London will be the location of its first official EU regional sales and service center. Two more stores are planned for Münich and Monaco. All three are on schedule to open sometime in 2009. Unlike the nondescript Chicago store location, the London digs have an interesting car hi

If you're near (or willing to drive to) Las Vegas, New York, Orlando, San Francisco, or Los Angeles, then Google would like you to plan a green trip using their new Green Summer page. The site features interactive maps, with addresses and video clips of environmentally sensitive establishments like (in San Francisco) the Exploratorium, the Ferry Plaza Farmer's Market and Crissy Field.
