Production of the ultra-powerful, ultra-fast SSC Ultimate Aero is coming to an end, and the boys over at SSC North America (formerly Shelby SuperCars) are sending it off in style. Dubbed "Ultimate Aero XT," this is the final production run of the one-time world-record-holding hypercar, only five will be built, and will feature many key elements from the forthcoming Tuatara hypercar from SSC.
The Dubai International Motor Show was a good one for Jerod Shelby and the SSC Tuatara. The event pulled in $13 million in pre-orders for heinously powerful supercar, far exceeding Shelby's expectations for a show that was merely supposed to show off where the Tuatara is headed. Shelby sat down with Studio One shortly after the show for a brief interview, and rather than focus on the newest creation from SSC, the show took a closer look at who Shelby is. Shelby Supercars hasn't had any trouble finding buyers for the company's Tuatara. According to Gulf News, the exotic drew a whopping 10 buyers at the Dubai International Motor Show. Global recession?
